Port Lincoln was one of the loading points for australian grain, distributed along the Spencer Gulf, at the end of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.

It is one of the largest natural harbor of the world with 13.000 inhabitants. The main activities include agriculture, tuna fishing and tourism.

Port Lincoln hosts the Axel Stenross maritime museum, a finnish seaman from the Olivebank who settled there.

The Pamir put there in 1932, 1935 and 1937.
