The Pamir found shelter there at the outbreak of the First World war on 01/10/1914, coming from Taltal ( ) and left on 10/03/1920
with 5 spanish and 5 scandinavian Sailors, bound to Hamburg.
At that time, the seaman Johannes Diebitsch, later the last Captain of the Pamir until the wreck, was on board.
