Bday: Birthday & Age Tracker is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your birthday reminders are your personal data, and we've designed this app to keep it that way. This privacy policy explains exactly what data we access, how we use it, and most importantly, what we don't do with it.
We don't collect, store, or transmit your data to any servers. Period.
All birthday information stays on your device. We don't have user accounts, we don't track you,
and we have no interest in your personal information beyond helping you remember birthdays.
When you grant permission, the app reads birthday information from your Google Contacts. Specifically:
This data is read only when you sync (either manually or automatically when you open the app, depending on your settings). It is stored locally in a database on your device using Android's Room database. This data never leaves your device.
We do NOT access:
The birthday data we read from your contacts is used for exactly one purpose: displaying your contacts' birthdays in the app.
We calculate upcoming birthdays, ages, and "days until" information entirely on your device. No calculations, analytics, or processing happens on any server because we don't have any servers.
All data is stored locally on your device using Android's Room database (SQLite). This storage is private to the app and protected by Android's app sandboxing. If you uninstall the app, all stored birthday data is automatically deleted by the Android system.
We do not use:
The only third-party service involved is Google Play Services, which is required for all apps distributed through the Google Play Store. Google Play Services may collect standard app usage statistics (like install counts and crash reports) according to Google's Privacy Policy.
This app does not require an internet connection to function. It does not make any network requests. Your birthday data never leaves your device.
READ_CONTACTS - Required to read birthday information from your Google Contacts. This is the only permission the app requests. You can deny this permission and the app will simply show an empty list (since it has no birthdays to display).
Since all data is stored only on your device:
This app does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect, store, or transmit personal information to any servers, there are no special considerations for children's privacy beyond the standard protections provided by Android.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Since the app doesn't connect to the internet, we can't notify you of changes automatically, but we encourage you to review this policy periodically.
