Kingston-upon-Hull or Hull is an English city that previously belonged to Yorkshire, but, since 1997, has been, with its surroundings, a unitary authority called East Yorkshire.



The city has circa 248 000 inhabitants (a 2003 estimates). It is a City.



Hull is located on the banks of the river Hull, on the north side of the Humber, which is the common estuary of two main rivers, the Trent and the Ouse of Yorkshire.

It became a City in 1293, by order of the King Edouard Ist and has sent MPs to Parliament since 1304.
